The Onyx Hospitality Group, one of South East Asia’s top hotel management companies, has just revealed its plans to open a new property. The property is a new hotel near terminal 21, located adjacent to NorthPattaya’s Ocean Tower Hotel, and is to be dubbed the OZO Hotel, containing 406 rooms, and is set to be part of the company’s efforts to improving the area, which holds their flagship property.
The construction of the new hotel is part of the Onyx Group’s massive investment, totalling Bt3.4 B (US$100 M), for the redevelopment of Sukhumvit’s iconic North Pattaya site. Additionally, redevelopment efforts will include the construction and launching of a new, premium, all-suites Amari wing, to be located on the former site of the Garden Wing of Amari Pattaya. Additionally, the nearby Amari Pattaya Ocean Tower and its surrounding facilities and infrastructure will be subjected to extensive refurbishment.
The efforts, if the schedule is followed, will be completed sometime early 2019. The renovations will lead to the North Pattaya landmark having three hotels, totalling to 752 keys, complete with auxiliary facilities, such as a state-of-the-art ballroom, recreational facilities, as well as dining options, improved pool areas, and re-landscaped gardens. The new site will also reap the benefits of its location, with the new hotel near terminal 21 and its adjacent properties being so close to a large-scale shopping mall a mere five-minute walk away.
Douglas Martell, Onyx Hospitality Group’s CEO made a statement about the investment and renovation plans, saying that, as the 45th anniversary of Amari Pattaya grows closer, the company is excited that it is in the position to implement improvements to their flagship property, whilst, at the same time, introducing the brand-new OZO and another, all-suites Amari property to accommodate the needs of their customers, local patrons, regional visitors and international travellers alike.
The OZO Hotel Pattaya is set to be a mid-scale hotel near terminal 21, and is being developed in a partnership alongside Orion Hospitality, which is a joint venture by ONYX and Singapore Hospitality Holdings. The new property’s goal is to accelerate the expansion of the OZO and Shama brands across the South East Asia region.
