14 new council homes have been formally launched at Able House, in Hemel Hempstead.Estate Agents Hemel Hempstead can now find clients for these affordable homes.
Mayor Collins joined his staff and the very first renters to open the new flats on Figtree Hill. The new housing comprises ten one-bedroom and four two-bedroom homes for residents who were part in their housing register. The new homes have been served for social rent.
The site was previously a three-storey business centre, which were no longer in use. The properties are situated in an extraordinary location just at the corner of Old Town High Street and the Hemel Hempstead town centre. Both locations have lately gone through outstanding changesas part of the £30 million Hemel Evolution restoration projects. This can make a great sale for Estate Agents Hemel Hempstead.
The properties have been designed with long reglit glass architecture for space and light within the properties.
New tenants are expected to occupy over the next few weeks. According to Mark Adams, one of the new tenants, “The council has done a great job with the development. I’m moving to this flat to downsize with cheaper rent and bills.”
“The £1,000 savings will help me buy small things for my new home. My parents moved from Peckham to Hemel in 1968 and they had a house like this too. I think it would be best to have more council homes for those in their 50s and 60s and leave their family-sized homes.”
The new council homes are the most recent development programmes out of 300 new affordable homes to be constructed between 2012 and 2020. They are also the very first to be completed within the year. Estate Agents Hemel Hempstead can easily introduce the homes to the public.
Councillor Andrew Williams, leader of the Council, said, “This is another stunning venture by Dacorum Borough Council. As one of the very few local authorities, we build new homes for affordable social rent levels – making it open for those who cannot buy a house of their own.”
It feels great for Estate Agents Hemel Hempstead that the housing market is improving in this area. They can easily find clients to rent the new council homes.
